Co-Designing Community Convening
On October 1st, 2022 we will host our first ever Co-Designing Community Convening. Registration for our Convening opens August 5, 2022 so please stay tuned for more information.
Together, we will examine and design our mission, bylaws, values, programming vision, our structure, answer questions and hear any input from the Community. Throughout the Convening, each Community member will have an opportunity to express their voice in any way they see fit.
Our Convening is our first step of many to meet with our Community and to document our interactions, receive input, and collectively design our organization.
We are actively developing our Convening over the next several months with an outstanding team of queer artists, cultural bearers, organizers, and educators who have all called Houston home.
As we design tools for our Convening our guiding questions are:
1) What tools do we utilize to engage and begin conversations with Community members?
2) What kind of access can we provide Community members for our Convening?
3) Ensuring safety, how do we address hate in a digital space?
4) How do we go about decentralizing power in a digital space?
As we learn and begin to answer these preliminary design questions, we will share with you our developments.
